George Washington, president of the United States of America to all to whom these presents shall come, greeting : whereas a treaty of peace and friendship between the United States of America and the tribes of Indians called the Wyandots, Delawares, Shawanoes, Ottowas, Chipewas, Putawatimes, Miamis, Eel-River, Weeás Kickapoos, Piankashaws, and Kaskaskias was made and concluded on the third day of August, one thousand seven hundred and nine-five, by Anthony Wayne, major-general, commanding the army of the United States, duly authorized thereto, on the one part, and the sachems and war chiefs of the before mentioned nations and tribes of Indians, whose names are thereunto signed, on the other part, which treaty is in the form and words following, viz : a treaty of peace between the United States of America and the tribes of Indians called the Wyandots, Delawares, Shawanoes, Ottowas, Chipewas, Putawatimes, Miamis, Eel-River, Weeás Kickapoos, Piankashaws, and Kaskaskias.
