Hawaii Public Interest Protection Act of 1971 : hearings before the Subcommittee on Merchant Marine of the Committee on Commerce, United States Senate, Ninety-second Congress, second session on S. 2836, to provide more effective means. for protecting the public interest, health, and safety of the people of the state of Hawaii during strikes, lockouts, or other forms of labor strife or discord in either the maritime or longshore industry, or both industries, which obstruct or close the major seaports of either the state of Hawaii or of the west coast of the United States, thereby disrupting the normal flow of maritime interstate commerce by means of surface water transportation both to and from the state of Hawaii, January 18, 19, and 20, 1972.
